Contemporary Topics in Nutrition:
This workshop examines important and relevant topics in nutrition to enhance the fitness professional’s knowledge and skills in addressing nutritional behaviors and dietary interventions for various goals. Topics discussed will include the latest research and practical applications in sugar, fat, gluten and various popular diets that include Paleo and Intermittent Fasting. Additionally, the workshop will focus upon more mindful eating strategies for weight loss and health. Lastly, it will address key concepts and applications in sports nutrition (hydration and feeding) to enhance fitness and performance, providing strategies to implement before, during and following exercise.

Successful Training and Coaching for Today and the Future:
This workshop examines the important skills trainers need on how to successfully evolve from trainer to coach. Topics discussed will include the fundamental differences between training and coaching, and methods to expand your knowledge and skills to make this transition. Additionally, the workshop will address research, trends and ideas on how to effectively build your brand and effectively market your training and coaching services. This will include methods for conducting your own SWOT analysis and your net promoter score to assess the loyalty your clients and customers hold towards you.

Exercise Physiologist and Faculty Instructor – SDSU, UCSD, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
Fabio is currently a Faculty Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and faculty member in Exercise Science and Nutrition at San Diego State University, and UC San Diego. Previously, Fabio was an exercise physiologist and certification manager for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) where he, during his tenure, was the original creator of ACE’s Integrated Fitness Training Model™ and lead developer of their live personal training educational workshops. His previous experiences include collegiate head coaching; strength and conditioning coaching; and opening and managing health clubs for Club One. As a national and international presenter, he is frequently featured on television, radio, internet, and in print publications. He authored chapters in various textbooks and publications, and is presently authoring upcoming academic and consumer books.
